Velvet chesterfield sofa care

A velvet chesterfield sofa is a thing of beauty, but there’s no denying that velvet can be a tricky material to maintain. However, there are some simple care steps that can be followed to keep your velvet chesterfield looking and feeling incredible.

  • Vacuuming regularly is a must, particularly if you have pets. Use a soft brush attachment to prevent dirt, dust and pet hair from building up. Always be sure to vacuum in the direction of the nap to keep your velvet chesterfield looking its best.
  • You could also dry-brush your sofa with a soft-bristled hair brush.
  • Any spills should be dealt with as soon as possible to avoid staining. Use a clean cloth or towel to press and absorb liquid. Avoid dabbing or rubbing as this can cause liquid to settle deeper into the velvet.
  • If the above fails, try a water-based cleaner and carefully blot the stain, then dry quickly.
